I started at Liberty Mutual in June of 2009 as a Senior Visual Designer for a cross-functional user experience team. My initial assignment included creating usable site-wide, page level and promotional designs that align with the Liberty Mutual brand. Since then, I’ve been promoted and now I manage a creative team. My current responsibilities include:
In the past few years, I’ve been fortunate enough to work on a lot of great projects for Liberty Mutual. Here are a select few:
Prior to the start of the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics, Liberty Mutual became a proud sponsor of the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic teams. Wanting to promote this relationship, Liberty Mutual hired Hill Holiday to help them create an integrated marketing campaign. The marketing campaign was called “RISE” and it featured Olympians that had successfully recovered from unique setbacks in their lives to finally arrive at their goal –The Olympics.
Since our UX team was responsible for the maintenance of LM.com, it was our goal to find a way to integrate this campaign into LibertyMutual.com. My role on this project was as a Visual Designer. I worked closely with Hill Holiday to replicate the look, feel and tone of their campaign on LibertyMutual.com. I collaborated with stakeholders, marketers, copywriters, information architects and developers to create a Team USA inspired, responsive section of LibertyMutual.com that made customers proud.
The Liberty Mutual Mobile app is a service and sales application for new and existing customers. Through the app, users can pay a bill, file a claim, view their auto insurance ID cards and much more. The app was originally created as an accident scene assistant but has since evolved to include many more features. I’ve had many roles in the development of the Liberty Mutual app. I was the lead visual designer on the original app and I continue to assist in adding functionality to the app either as a visual designer or as a creative director.
LibertyMutual.com is the home page for Liberty Mutual Insurance. For the past 5 years, I’ve been assisting the company on improving the user experience. My focus has primarily been on the visual design of the website. Whether as a visual designer or through providing design direction, I’ve helped the company continuously improve their rankings with J.D. Power, Keynote & Comscore.
